Day 222 - Small World
There are a bunch of ways this world is improving every day. I think that a critical way that takes place is when people travel and see the world for what it really is.
Every one I’ve ever known who has traveled abroad for any length of time has returned home better for it. They have more realistic sense of self and harmony. Nationalism dissolves into this more global mentality of humans as an interdependent species.
I’ve had as an aim for most of my adult life, to study abroad with my son and follow the path of human’s education. Go to the places where major discoveries were made; physics, astronomy, poetry, drama, war, peace, curry, the wheel.
It could take a year. It could take more. Before I go on that wonderful trip with him, I want to make it possible for some other folks to get out and about too. So, today, I’m writing a check to Living Routes, an organization committed to providing study abroad opportunities in eco-villages.
You can even download their program by clicking here.
They have opportunities in India, Israel, Scotland, Brazil, USA, Senegal, Mexico. Today I’m handing them a check for $222,000 game money to make it that much easier to accomplish their mission and make their program available to more deserving students.
Get out there!
