Day Seventeen - Skydiving and Ecostation

May 31st, 2009 2 comments

I have always wanted to go skydiving. I even had a plan to take my little sister for High School graduation, and I let her chicken out at the last minute.

I really need to do it. I’m putting $2,000 toward it in my game. I have learned from a few people that getting certified, if one is certain it is for them, is the most affordable way to get and stay in the air. Used gear is pretty affordable, and going up a few times a day gets pretty attainable, when you’ve got some hours under the belt.

Because there is a ton left over today, I want to contribute to a spot near me that does a lot of good for rescued and abandoned animals. Their operation is pretty awesome. They care for rare animals and educate young people simultaneously.

Maybe you’ve heard of Ecostation.

If you’ve ever taken a kid there, you know what the smile on their face looks like when you leave. Its amazing.

Day Sixteen - Fun and Fashion

I noticed myself feeling stretched to come up with ideas on what to do for our trip to Spain. I didn’t expect this would be a challenge. Only now am I beginning to see that I haven’t yet cultivated the habit of earning and spending big.

Scale is not in my bag of tricks yet. This game is changing that.

Today, I’m done paying down the big dinner and I’m back from Spain. The people are so fashionable over there it made me realize its time to upgrade my wardrobe.

In an effort to find really great gear without driving all over creation, I steered my browser toward Fashion Design. On Mashable I found this little beauty, StyleShake. Essentially its a online cut-out doll that you can shape to your bodies.

You can choose fabrics and cuts, styles and over 100,000 saved styles to choose from. Less than two weeks after design it can be at your door. Ladies, you have it all. Really.

Top Sellers - Loin Cloths

Is there anything out there like this for guys? Not that I found. The CEO cited boring trends with lack of change in the last century as the problem. But if there were, it would probably look something like this image I threw together.

The range wouldn’t have to stop at grass skirts and kilts either. (I seem to be focused on open-air systems today… hmm.)

It could also include cravats, ascots, and other historic notables.

All fun aside, I am going clothes shopping. And not at Ross (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’m going down the street to some fancy shops and getting things that actually fit.

$16,000! Bam. New clothes. That feels good. I know that everything fits, all the colors are right. I’m comfortable in every situation.

And, I feel good always.

That’s a first. Totally worth $16k.

Send me pictures of you in your dream outfit. Seriously, go put it on, snap a picture, and send it to info@asIprosper.com

I’ll post it so people can think of you at your best, always.

Day Fifteen - Being Ridiculous In Spain

If anyone else is keeping better track of the numbers than I am, I paid back the sweet price tag on Dinner with President Obama today and yesterday. So, I have just under $15k today, really, $9,100 to be exact.

A friend of mine moved his family to Spain for a year. (Of course there’s a blog what rules!)

Some people told them they were crazy. Others got jealous. Me, I’m getting on a plane and saying, “Hi.”

Today. In my game.

I’ve never seen these guys happier. I hope they never have to come home.

Our tickets are $ 1,101.36 Eco Premium class on Air France, round trip for my son and I.

We’re staying in Andalusia. We’re staying here at $1000 for a week. (Although tomorrow in the game I’ll probably be back to romping around my neighborhood. We’ll see. Imagination is powerful!)

So car rental is: about $750 per day. And we’ll probably want it for three days. That’s $2250.

I’m bringing gifts for the kids (3 of ‘em) and of course spending money for my own. So, we’ll put $2500 in to that. Which leaves $2268.54 walking around money. Even converted to Euros, that feels pretty healthy for walking around.

Who knows? Maybe when I get back I’ll have enough left over for a chandelier. Like this one:

C’mon. Laugh for a second. That’s funny!
